Top 5 beaches near the Arenal de Mallorca
One of the many advantages of staying at the Cosmopolitan Hotel is that it is conveniently located close to Palma, the airport and beautiful beaches and coves of white sand and crystal-clear waters. Pay attention to this post, since we will recommend 5 beaches that are very close to the famous Playa de Palma and our Cosmopolitan Hotel that are true natural havens and that you should not miss. Here we go!
- Es Trenc.
They say that the Es Trenc beach is one of the island’s most beautiful; for sure, it is the most famous of all the beaches of Mallorca. And it’s no wonder! It is a very long beach of white sand and crystal clear waters. Its shore is so crystalline that it ultimately reveals the white sand of the seabed, together with incredible blue and turquoise shades that result in a gorgeous landscape.
It is like a piece of the Caribbean in the Mediterranean. A beach suitable for nudism and easily accessible, offering parking for around 4 euros a day. A tip: do not leave Mallorca without visiting Es Trenc.
- Cala Santanyí.
Cala Santanyí dazzles with its beautiful natural setting where you can enjoy a full day at the beach. Its waters are very calm and crystal-clear and the ground is very flat, which makes it ideal for enjoying with the little ones. At Cala Santanyí, you can practice different activities such as hiking, with several scheduled routes that surround the whole beach and its surroundings, and surfing or diving, since you will find a diving school on the beach itself.
Getting to Cala Santanyí is as easy as getting to Es trenc, since the beach has perfectly signposted accesses, so that you can go with your private vehicle and park in the same parking lot at the foot of the beach.
- Caló des Burgit.
Caló des Burgit is a small cove located in the south-eastern part of the island, next to the natural park of Mondragó, and a must-see. It is a small cove surrounded by incredible vegetation that together with the beauty of the beach itself will make you think that you are lost in an authentic desert island.
The natural park of Mondragó is as beautiful and spectacular as the beach itself; Calo des Burgit also deserves the title of nature reserve beach. With fine white sand and intense blue water, Caló des Burgit is considered one of the best coves of Mallorca, without a doubt.
- Cala Barca.
Cala Barca beach, also known as Caló de Sa Barca Trencada, is one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches in Mallorca. Almost an oasis in the middle of the desert; 25 metres of fine white sand, surrounded on both sides by an extensive amount of pine trees that in their entirety make up a small optical illusion of an immense forest in which you will want to get lost.
Cala Barca is located just 3 km from Porto Petro and 7 km from the tourist area of Cala D’Or, where in addition to having a sunbeds and umbrellas rental service, you can also get some kayaks and explore the Mediterranean sea a little further than from the shore.
Cala Barca’s beach bar is also worth a visit as it offers excellent international and Mallorcan and Mediterranean dishes.
- Cala Blava.
And last but not least, Cala Blava: a formidable cove just 3 km from the town of S’Arenal, in the municipality of Llucmajor. It is a small sandy beach on a natural inlet between cliffs on the southwest coast of Mallorca. Very close to our Cosmopolitan Hotel.
Cala Blava is a crystal-clear water beach due to its sandy bottom. During the summer it has little swell, although it is not protected from the westerly wind. The access to the sea with a gentle slope is ideal for families with children. From the beach in the distance you can see the coast of the bay of Palma. The cliffs that surround this beautiful beach are stunning. Definitely, a must.
