Balneario 6, the most popular beach area in Playa de Palma
In today’s post, we will stop at Balneario 6, located on the promenade of Playa de Palma. It is Playa de Palma’s most popular and visited meeting point.
A total of 15 balnearios – chiringuitos make up the landscape of the largest beach and one of the liveliest in Mallorca, which includes the famous chiringuito number 6, better known as “Ballermann 6”. A meeting point for people of different nationalities, mainly German, but also tourists from all over the world, primarily from Holland, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Russia, England, Austria and the United States.
Playa de Palma’s Balneario 6 is very popular among young people as a place to have fun and party, although for the last few years, the partygoers profile has been changing to sensible young people, couples and families who all live together in harmony.
Our hotel, the Hotel Cosmopolitan, is located in the Balneario 8, just 5 minutes’ walk from the Ballermann 6, a privileged location within the stretch of the beach, since you can enjoy the most famous and lively area (if it is fun that you are after) and at the same time a quieter stay, once you get away from the nightlife epicentre.
In 2017, Balneario 6 was remodelled within the renovation plan implemented by the island’s government to revitalise Playa de Palma’s 15 balnearios, in addition to a series of measures to maintain order, cleanliness and safety in the area; since then, it has been renamed Beach Club Six, has a modern décor and new sunbeds and umbrellas.
If you are thinking about spending a few days in paradise, the Hotel Cosmopolitan has all the ingredients for a perfect stay.
Playa de Palma is a fantastic beach where it is impossible to get bored, since there are all kinds of activities, where sunbathing or having fun practising water sports is the usual.
In the nearly 5 km of beach, you can find all kinds of restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and lively clubs, across a promenade covered with palm trees that invite you to stroll. Besides, the shore is sandy and the water is shallow, therefore, it is ideal for spending a day with the family with guaranteed safety thanks to the lifeguard, local police and Red Cross stations that are along the entire beach; for surfer and Kiter enthusiasts the place to be is Balneario 15, an area always full of surfers practising their favourite sport.
And if what you prefer is a route by car to discover the wonderful east coast of Mallorca, our Hotel Cosmopolitan is the ideal starting point of the itinerary that we propose and that begins by heading towards the Es Trenc beach, one of the most famous beaches in Mallorca, with crystal-clear waters and white sand. Continuing the journey we recommend a stop in the village of Ses Salines, a town known for its honey and its traditional salt, harvested in the Salinas del Trenc. We resume the march heading towards Cala D’Or, a fantastic area of beaches and wonderful coves such as Cala Romántica, Cala Domingos, Cala Murada… and bars and restaurants where you can enjoy typical Mallorcan food. We will finish the itinerary in Cala Ratjada. We recommend that you take a tour of the entire promenade, from Cala Gat to Cala Sa Pedruscada and enjoy its traditional landscape full of character.
